This traditional styled, family owned 3 star hotel is located in the centre of the delightful town of Blairgowrie, Perthshire. All of the rooms come equipped with free wifi, hairdryers, TV and tea/coffee making facilities whilst a lift gives full access to all floors. Dine in the main function room where the main entertainment will take place.
The leisure club has an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, solarium, sauna and a spa which offers massages and beauty treatments (at extra cost).
Arrival in Blairgowrie, Scotland
We travel to Blairgowrie which is poised on the edge of the glens with breathtaking Glenshee to the North and the romance and legend of Braemar and Royal Deeside beyond. Once you have unpacked and had a chance to unwind, we meet old friends and new in reception for pre-drinks before your three course dinner.
Hercules Gardens & Diana Grove plus Pitlochry
After breakfast, we head to Blair Castle, created in the 18th century which is at the hub of breathtakingly beautiful historic landscape featuring Diana’s Grove, which is a tranquil wooded area situated near to the castle within the grounds of Atholl Estates, it also has a red deer park and a whimsical gothic folly. You can discover the recently restored nine acre walled Hercules Garden with landscaped ponds, Chinese bridge and impressive orchard. You will be able to enjoy time here before continuing to picturesque Pitlochry for lunch at one of the many tearooms, public houses or cafes. In the afternoon, we will return to your hotel for afternoon tea with cream scones. They will be live musical entertainment this evening following your evening meal.
Scone Palace, Pinetum & Liqueur Tasting
This morning, we travel to Scone Palace, one of Scotland’s most important stately homes. It has been the capital of the Picts, the seat of parliament and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots. The Palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artefacts and the grounds are world famous. The celebrated Moot Hill, where ancient Kings were crowned, is located immediately in front of the Palace and is topped with a tiny Chapel. Stroll at your leisure through the magnificent Pinetum where, amongst others, the giant redwoods and noble Firs tower over you. Then we are back on board our coach and on our way to visit the oldest working Scottish distillery for liqueur tastings. Once again we return to our hotel room for cream scones and afternoon tea/coffee with a chance to unwind before dinner and an evening of Spirit of Scotland entertainment.
Glamis Castle, Blairgowrie & The Enchanted Forest
This morning, we will visit Glamis Castle that was once the home of HRH The Queen Mother and where Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ was set! We can enjoy this remarkable castle and grounds before we depart for our hotel for lunch. Afterwards, you will have time to explore Blairgowrie on your own or relax around the hotel where a delicious afternoon tea will be served. The highlight of the holiday is The Enchanted Forest experience, a multi-award winning light and sound show which uses the forest as a natural backdrop where you will see and hear a lighting show that is set to original orchestral music. It truly is a spectacular show and not to be missed.
