Ahoy There, Captain
After a leisurely breakfast, we make our way into York for an entertaining and informative river cruise on the beautiful River Ouse which is a great photographic opportunity, where you can see for yourself where Saxons fought Vikings in 1066, where monks entertained their guests and where witches were ducked in the Middle Ages. When we disembark you will then have the rest of the day to enjoy the delights of York itself which has an overwhelming wealth of heritage, culture and attractions for you to enjoy.
Steam Trains & Seaside Memories
Today we will drive to the bustling and vibrant market town of Pickering to meet our train at the station of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway who will then take us into the heart of the Moors and drop us at Grosmont, where you will have time to visit the engine sheds. The coach will then continue onto the seaside town of Whitby, where you can spend the afternoon relaxing by the harbour, wandering through the old part of the town or even exploring The Captain Cook Memorial Museum before returning to the hotel.
After breakfast, we leave our hotel and start our homeward journey.
